Ever wondered why you're working towards your goals and still not sure if you are doing it right or even if you're living up to your potentials? Yes, that particular feeling of doubt is what this blog post wants to tackle. As humans, we are always looking for instant gratification, we seek speed in all we do and what we don't know is that what really matters still take a lot of time. If you have been finding it challenging grasping how much progress you're making towards the achievement of your dreams and goals, here are 7 signs you should look out for. If you see yourself in any of them, know that you're on the right track.
1. You have goals: You would be surprised as to how many people are in this world living on vibes, that is, they just want to live each day as it comes, no plans, no goals, no dreams, nothing! But that's not you. If you at least have a slight idea of what you want to achieve, you're already ahead of the curve. If you now have a plan to see those goals achieved, give yourself some credit because you're definitely living up to your potentials.
2. You pursue those goals: Living up to your potentials is all about putting in the work. That means you don't only have goals but you're actively pursuing those goals. My dear, if this is you, then you're doing amazingly well. Everything worth having takes time, so go through the process and in due time, you will see results. To help yourself see that you are getting it, I would advice you break your bigger goals into smaller ones, so you can celebrate each small goal you achieve on the way to achieving it all.
3. You question yourself: Questioning your choices is absolutely normal. The dreams and goals you had when you were little might be different from what you want now as an adult. This doesn't mean you're not living up to your potentials, the only thing here is that people change and dreams and choices change too. So if you're currently questioning your choices and figuring out what you want, you're just on the edge of living up to your potentials. Let yourself take the plunge.
4. You occasionally make mistakes: Living up to your potentials doesn't guarantee 100% success in everything you try. There are times you will make mistakes or fail. This shouldn't stop you from getting up back, trying new things, expanding your horizons and learning from your mistakes. This way you're moving forward.
5. You're open to opportunities: People who are living up to their potentials see opportunities and make good use of them. If you know you're always open to new challenges, always ready to try out new things, then you are living up to your potentials even without realizing it.
6. You invest in your health: If you see yourself eating well, taking enough rest, exercising your body, managing your mental, physical and emotional health, then, you're living up to your potentials. I say this for you to understand that you can only meet up to your high expectations, achieve your goals and do everything right when you're in good health. Invest in your health!
7. You don't make excuses for yourself: People who fail to realize their potentials blame it on anything else. On people, on situations, on bad luck, or character flaws, etc. Instead of making excuses, make progress. Take responsibility! Acknowledge that only you can control your trajectory. It might take a little more time but know that you're well on your way to becoming the best version of yourself.
Bottom line
Living up to your potentials involves careful attention to details that will bring you a rewarding life. You cannot do that in a day, it takes time and due preparation.
Hey dear reader, If at least one or two of the points above applies to you, you're doing well. Take the credit!
