Happiness is a choice. In this life, we all yearn to be happy, content and fulfilled, however, these things don't just happen, we have to put in the work to make it work. There are tons of things you can do to be happy, from going to the cinemas, to eating your favourite meal, to listening to your favorite music, etc. But these things come as superficial. When it comes to happiness, you need something sustainable, something that lasts. And to help you with this, i listed below few things you can focus on in your life for more happiness. 

1. Prioritize your mental and physical health: With all the things going on around us, prioritizing mental health might look difficult especially with the toxicity on the internet today. While it matters that we are knowledgeable about what's going on, our brain can only take so much. There are things we can't control and we should not allow it control us. Take your mental health serious, know what you feed your brain and mind, let positivity reign as this will help you stay happy. Remember that your mental and physical health are of utmost priority in life and are closely connected to each other. When you are in good health, you're sure to stay happy. 

2. Pursue work-life balance: Balancing your personal and professional life is vital. If you constantly struggle with stress, restlessness, anxiety, then the work-life balance is what you need to pursue. It would be difficult but for your mental health, it's something you must work on. When you have a work-life balance, then happiness is sure. 

3. Invest in a healthy relationship: As you become older and get more matured, there is a big tendency that your circle of friends will become smaller. It may seem odd but I guess it's normal. It's part of the process and this is why you need to regroup your circle. Know those that you want around you and build healthy relationships  with them. You don't have to have a large circle because it's not everybody you can keep up with and sometimes you might have to let go of some people. So, think of those close ones, those ones who have always been with you during your highs and lows, keep them and invest time and energy in cultivating your bond with them. 

4. Spend quality time with loved ones: One of the most important thing to focus on in your life for more happiness is spending quality time with your family and friends. No matter your busy schedule, creating little time to spend with your loved ones is sure to make you happy. So, take out time from work and chill a little. Over time, you will see that these little things you do, when accumulated, could mean so much to your happiness. 

5. Show kindness: You can never go wrong with kindness. It's one of the secrets to happiness. I believe it pays to be caring and kind to others. It doesn't have to be material wise, it can start off with a warming smile to your neighbor, or greeting a stranger on the road, or helping out in planning an event or running errands for your loved ones, etc. It doesn't always have to be something big, it can start off with the little things. Trust me to say this will make you happy and feel fulfilled. It would greatly make a difference.
